Christmas Wonder Lights Installation Policy & Guidelines

Weather: Christmas Wonder Lights (CWL) is responsible for installing lights and holiday decor listed in your service agreement. However, living in Houston, we face inclement weather. We watch the radar and do our absolute best to ensure we meet the date listed in your contract. If we spot a 30% more chance of rain, we will do our best to move your Christmas light installation ahead of schedule and let you know by phone or email. If we cannot move ahead of schedule, you will be notified, and we will ensure you will receive the next available date.

 

Electrician: CWL will have an electrician on all commercial sites during Christmas light installation to ensure a seamless and safe process. However, the client is responsible for their electricity and ensures each outlet works properly.  Our commercial Christmas lights are converted to be used with a 110 plug, but we highly recommend a GFI outdoor outlet for power sources. If CWL is called out to your site for maintenance and the issue is electricity, you will be charged a $35.00 service fee plus $0.66 mileage over 20 miles.

 

Christmas Lights: We no longer install clients’ Christmas lights as we cannot guarantee they will work throughout the duration of the season. However, we will gladly donate your Christmas lights to the Houston Zoo and give you a $25.00 discount towards your Christmas light installation. Lights must be available for us to pick up on the installation day.

 

Color Change Request; We are happy to provide you with one free color change per year when you give us a seven-day notice from the day of your Christmas light installation in Houston, Katy, or Sugar Land. 

 

Props & Rentals: We work with five leading manufacturers to ensure your display is of the highest quality; we only use commercial-grade products and decor. Products are shipped by the end of September; sometimes, we may need to substitute your request with a similar product of equal or greater value.

 

Garlands & Wreaths: We offer a three-year warranty against fading and discoloration for garlands and wreaths included in our all-inclusive packages. Please be advised that to secure your outdoor wreath, we will drill a permanent anchor between the mortar joint of the brick to hold it securely in place. Garland may be anchored or nailed.

 

Rooftops: If your roof is dangerous for our crew to walk on due to slick or worn-out shingles, we will make every effort possible to install your Christmas lights without risk to our contractors. However, if we are unable to, we will notify you to make design changes. Deposits are non-refundable. Our insurance carrier requires our Christmas light installation company to use a boom lift on clay tile roofs and roofs that cannot be reached with a 32’ ladder; all rental fees must be paid in advance.

 

Trees & Shrubs: If your package includes holiday lighting for trees, shrubs, or landscaping, we suggest you prune or trim your trees a few days before. CWL does offer tree service referrals upon request.

 

Maintenance: Please call (281) 545-7740 for maintenance issues with your Christmas lights in Katy, Houston, or Sugar Land. Once we have received your service request, please allow 24 hours for repairs. Please note that the day before and the day of Thanksgiving and between December 22nd – December 29th, we run a skeleton crew to allow employees to enjoy the holidays with their families; maintenance during these dates may anticipate a 72-hour delay.

Our maintenance plan does not include electrical problems, lights damaged due to traffic or lawn equipment, or wires that squirrels and rabbits have chewed. You will incur a $35.00 trip fee. If you know you have rabbits, please inform us beforehand so we may spray the wire before your Christmas light installation; this may or may not detour your rabbits.

 

Removal: CWL ensures your holiday display is removed by January 31st; we can only schedule dates for removal if you notify us at the time of booking. We schedule light removal according to route starting on January 2nd, as this allows our team to make sure all displays are removed in a timely manner.

 

Storage: Our all-inclusive packages include storage as the lights belong to Christmas Wonder Lights. You may request when booking to keep your lights, but color changes, maintenance, and storage are not included. 

Our peak season is the week before and the week of Thanksgiving; these dates book up months in advance.

 

Payment: We require a 50% deposit to secure your date, with the remainder due on the day of your Christmas light installation in Katy, Houston, and Sugar Land. We accept checks and credit cards – CC payments incur a 3% processing fee. Please let us know in advance if no one will be present on the installation day so payment arrangements can be made. We will remove your display if the balance is not paid within three calendar days of the display being installed.

If payments are mailed, we are not responsible for lost or stolen checks or any fees that may incur. We will only secure your date once a deposit has been received, and dates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

Discounts: In the second year of your service contract, you will receive a 30% discount when you book your date with a 50% deposit between January- July  and have us install in the month of October. If you book your service after July, you will receive a 20% discount. If you do not sign a three-year service agreement, discounts will not apply.

 

Cancellation: You may cancel your service agreement at any time without stating a reason. However, please note that CWL’s all-inclusive package includes leased lights. Deposits are non-refundable.

 

Lost or Stolen Décor: CWL is not liable for lost or stolen items on your property and only insures props valued at $5000.00 each. If an item is lost/ stolen, you are responsible for replacing the item at the current market value.

 

Insurance: CWL is fully insured, and we provide general liability and workers’ compensation. If you need a COI, please contact us at (281) 545-7740.
