Supplies To Make Your Katy Christmas Light Canvas
Th first thing we need to do is take our supply list and head over to Hobby lobby, here is a list of supplies you will need
Sharpie, we used red and green, but you can choose any color that accompanies your holiday theme.
Holiday lights, we used 100 LED mini lights but you can also use fairy lights, or 5 MM Katy Christmas lights.
16 X 20 white canvas (since they often come in 3 packs why not make an extra for a friend, family member, or yourself)
Hot glue gun and sticks
Letter stencils or use your printer or cricket to make your own letters.
Metal skewer
Step By Step Directions
Step 1: Take your blank canvas and sharpie, whatever color you chose and using your stencils we wrote out “Merry Grinchmas” this is the theme we have decoded to go with this year, but you can write “Merry Christmas” or “Let It Snow” then add snowflakes all over the canvas.
Step 2: Take the metal skewer or an ice pick and make small holes through all the letters in any pattern where you wish for your lights to go, again use your mini-Katy Christmas lights because they will work better to illuminate the letters.
Step 3: Take the tip of your Katy Christmas lights and poke them through the holes you created on you canvas and take a little drop of hot glue to secure them into place. If the cord is too long simply using a clear zip tie in the back and then plug them into the wall and that’s how easy this cute sign is for you to make.
Tip: If you choose fairy lights then you want to make sure the battery pack is secure to the back of the canvas but be careful not to use too much hot glue as some of the ones you purchase will melt.
