If you have been following our blog, we have been providing you with ways to use your Katy Christmas lights for crafts, today I am going to reveal one of my favorite ways to decorate a child’s room and ensure those left-over Katy Christmas lights serve a great purpose. Remember the beloved holiday classic poem
Taws the night before Christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse, the stocking was hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nick soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar plum danced in their heads. That is the poem that led me to create this designer headboard filled with twinkling Katy Christmas lights that I had yet to use. Here are the supplies you mama bears will need:
Children’s Headboard Using Katy Christmas Lights
Curtain rod that fits for your space
2 Boxes of 300 mini lights
Command damage free hooks
Sheer Curtains
Now you can choose any color you have in mind for the lights and curtains, but we used red and green curtains and had Katy Christmas lights that we reused which were white to create this holiday craft.
Step 1: We are going to hang our curtain rod; you can pick one up almost anywhere for under $20.00 it does require a drill so if you’re not handy with tools ask for some help from Papa bear.
Step2: Once the curtain rod is hung above the bed you want to take an 18 pack of command damage free hooks. Peel off the sticker on the back and place these right beneath where you mounted your curtain rod. Make sure all the hooks are in a straight row.
Step 3: Next you want to remove the light, if your using refurbished Katy Christmas lights make sure to unbale the mini lights first. Then drape them down the wall and hook them into the command clips. Make sure all the hooks are covered with your sting of Katy Christmas lights. The lights will just flow down the wall and look nicely.
Step 4: Now take down the curtain rod and thread the sheer curtains into the rod and then screw it back in so the rod is secure The sheer curtains will hang over the light with the mini lights being in the background.
Step 5: Plug in your Katy Christmas lights and Wala your child now has the perfect holiday decorated headboard to help them have the best night of rest possible for all those awesome pictures you will be sure to take when they wake up Christmas morning to unwrap Santa’s gifts.
